Marg Wade left her teaching job to write and self-publish the first edition of 'Canberra Secrets' — a guidebook to Canberra, because she was sick of people bagging Canberra. Now, over two decades later, she has published three editions of Canberra Secrets, each one multiplying significantly in word count and thickness. She has sold over 11,000 copies during that time.
Marg is the powerhouse behind Canberra Secrets Personalised Tours, putting to use those decades of research, and happily sharing the secrets she has unearthed. She creates bespoke tours throwing in all manner of suggestions to tailor one-off fabulous experiences of Canberra.
A regular on local radio talking about what is happening in town, Marg also loves espousing the social history stories. She thrives on delving into the archives to bring you some of Canberra’s quirkiest historical (and other) secrets.
Actively involved in tourism, Marg's roles include: Board member Canberra Region Tourism Leaders Forum; Chair, ACT Small Tour Operators Collective; Chair, ACT Branch Australian Tourism Export Council and Co-Instigator of the regular gathering of local tourism colleagues at the ACT and region Mini Tourism Expo.
Marg loves great coffee, the company of family and friends and checking out the latest in town, especially Canberra’s eating establishments.
